Photographer's Note
People gather at the beach near Fredrikshavn to honour the sun. An old Viking symbol is lit up to make a beautiful contrast; fire, sky and sea. I took the shot with handheld camera, knowing it would be difficult to get a steady shot. But i wanted to try anyhow. The objective was to capture the colourful sky and the warm light from the fire. So no flash was wanted here...
In Denmark and in Northern Jutland in particular, the summer is known for it light. The days are long ande the summer nights are short and always full of light. The darkness waits fore the winter.

Interesting shot Morten and good notes. The colours and the lights create a magical atmosphere that fits with the theme you have chosen. The only thing is that the image is a little blur,i think a little more sharpening would help.
Anyway, it is a good shot, thank you for sharing this!

I enjoy the colours of the sky and the effect of the people in the foreground,I grew up in Esbjerg and vaguely recall the bonfires on the beach. The haze adds to the overall effect

Nice shot here morten.
I think that the blurred focus ads some intensity to the picture, makes it look really hot.
