Photographer's Note
A tombstone in the old Jewish Cemetery in Josefov, Prague's Jewish Quarter. The cemetery has 12,000 gravestones, in varying states of decay and disarray, with the oldest dating back to 1439. By 1787, when the cemetery stopped by used, it had become so crowded that burials were carried out one on top of the other, up to 12 layers deep.
