Photographer's Note
This was taken from one of the towers at one end of the Charles Bridge. At first glance, the view made me feel like Kafka's land surveyor, K., confronted with the unattainability of the "castle." Then I noticed how the preeminence of Hradcany was multiplied, as it were, in the dense thicket of steep roofs and chimneys rising upward. Each home a castle unto itself.
