In the hot day, It is important to drink. ASlso cats know it :). The scene from Melnik.
Melnik (Bulgarian: Мелник, Greek: Μελένικο, Meleniko) is a town in Blagoevgrad Province, southwestern Bulgaria, in the southwestern Pirin Mountains, about 440 m above sea level. The town is an architectural reserve and 96 of its buildings are cultural monuments. With a population of 385, it is the smallest town in Bulgaria, retaining its city status today for historical reasons. It is situated on the foothills of the Pirin mountain range and is overlooked by the Melnik Earth Pyramids.
The unique architecture of Melnik and the nearby Rozhen Monastery (located 6 km southeast of Melnik) make it a popular tourist destination. In addition, the town has been famous for producing strong wine since at least 1346. The local wine from the varietal Broad Leave Melnik Vine was reportedly a favourite of Winston Churchill's. Lately, the area of Melnik is enjoying a revival of vine growing and wine making. Several new, modern wineries have been built and operate (Villa Melnik Winery, Sintika Winery, Orbelus, etc., producing high quality wine from local and international varieties.

Hi Malgo,
I think Moldova would be worth a visit in Autumn or Spring when the vineyards are at their best. Orheiul Vechi Gorge was nice but it was cloudy when I was there. Capriana is also worth a look.

You are lucky this image survived. Viviane can be pretty ruthless with any image depicting cats. I haven't been to Melnik so maybe next time I could include it with Rila Monastery. Tfs!

So you've also been to Melnik ... You've visited many different places on a rather short journey.
This picture is really cute. Did you also see the cat open and close the tap? :)
I cannot remember this square but I haven't forgotten the beautiful architecture of Melnik, the interesting Rozhen Monastery and the path through the mountains to it.
