‘Villers-la-Ville - More arches of Villers Abbey’
For lovers of ruins and arches, another series of photos of Villers Abbey.
The whole site of the abbey is quite large and other visitors can be sure to discover more photographic spots.

Hello Paul,
Without prior knowledge, and your note, I might have thought these were the ruins of a large industrial complex from late 19th century. Such factories, breweries etc were often beautiful brick building inspired by Renaissance architecture. Many have in recent decades been transformed into hotels, museums or shopping centers. Unfortunately this abbey is far beyond any such restoration, but it's beautiful enough as it is, which is well captured in these photos.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Paul,
This is ab=very interesting ruin, particularly because there is so much of it still erect, giving us a strong impression of previous magnitude.
I was curious about the construction, in that the lower sections are stone, whilst most of the rest of the building is very neatly laid brickwork.
There were some very attractive viewpoints, where you could excite your artistic skills, using archways and windows for natural borders and to create good depth.
I would have struggled to decide which to use as the main post but, since you have shown all three, it is less important.
The details are sharply captured, with additional interest created by the contrasting sunlight and shadows.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonsoir Paul,
Les ruines sont impressionnantes. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des arches de l'abbaye de Villers. La lumière donne de belles teintes aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne soirée.

Hi Paul,
Again a well chosen viewpoint from this ancient abbey. You can see through several walls thorough openings here. Crumbling nature of brickwork is well presented.

Hallo Paul,

Hello Paul,
Another worthy photo from the monastery. As I see, you made the most of the place! :) Its interesting to imagine how it looked like once, where those doors and windows led.

Hi Paul
Another wonderful photo full of arches. I like the "frame within a frame" effect. This time more brick-red than green and that's also nice.
The 2 WS photos create a pleasing series with the main one.
Best wishes

Hi Paul,
This place certainly offers a lot of photo opportunities. Great collection of photos, if one take into account also all the workshop photos, each so different, it is really a great presentation showing so many faces of the ruins.
Very creative, excellent work,

Hello Paul.
Superb composition with this double arcade of the nave of the church, impressive the great height that the building had, we see a solid construction with stone columns, as well as the arches of the first arcade, the other is solid brick
Sharpness, lighting, color, and magnificent composition; They are managed perfectly, in this beautiful image.
Nice job. I like very much.
You have a good day. Very best regards.
Luis.
