Ghent “Patershol old quarter”

The Patershol is an old quarter in the historic center of the Belgian city of Ghent. The area is about 4.5 hectares and has a closed street pattern that has been preserved from the Middle Ages. The district is bordered by the Geldmunt, the Lange Steenstraat, the Grauwpoort, the Sluizeken, Oudburg and the Kraanlei. De Leie forms a natural border with the rest of the old city center. The neighborhood now houses many small cozy cafes and restaurants. At the Kaatsspelplein 8 there is also a meeting center for seniors with the predicate "open house for people over 55, the Pratershol" (deliberately written with an r between the p and the a). In the district is the Caermersklooster and the House of Alijn. The Patershol and the surrounding area were protected as a cityscape in 1981
I hope you can enjoy.
