During my bike trip two hours ago I saw this sunflower field, I hope that you like it.


Sunflowers.
It was (again) Colombus bringing the first sunflower seeds to Europe. For the overseas peoples, sunflower was an important nutritional crop, just like corn and beans. With us, sunflowers are more or less cultivated. But in southern France and Tuscany, the landscape is colored in the summer by wide sunflower fields. Farmers cultivate (adapted types of) sunflowers for the food industry. The oil seeds are harvested and used in various foodstuffs.
