Hello John,

A very interesting note you have given us about this interesting place with lots of history and a very fine early morning photograph too!

I love the peacefulness of this place as the mist still clings to the face of the water. The composition is excellent with the edge of the canal leading the eye from bottom left, past the boat and into the distance. Beautiful reflections of the trees on the water and lovely soft and subtle colours.

Perfect exposure, fine colours and stunning sharpness.

Ciao John,
la foschia del mattino in corrispondenza del canale rende molto suggestiva l'immagine.
Sembra un posto tranquillo, silenzioso dove trovare un po' di relax e poi mangiare qualche cosa di buono nel ristorante vicino e per concludere una passeggiata.

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The length of the canal is giving depth to the scene. The point od view is showing the details and colors of the boat. The fog has a speciial effect on the colors has a mood effect on the scenery. Have a nice day.

Dag John,
Er heerst hier een totaal andere sfeer dan op je vorige foto maar ik vind deze ook heel mooi. De foto werd in april genomen maar het lijkt toch herfst ! De mist is duidelijk aanwezig en zorgt voor een rustig gevoel dat goed in beeld te vangen is. Het stilliggende bootje als vertrekpunt leidt ons het beeld in terwijl de zachte mist het kanaal en de weglopende bomen laat vervagen in het verre niets. De spiegelingen van de bomen in het kalme water werken hier fraai mee. Dit is hier het bewijs dat de mist ook wel mooie plaatjes kan opleveren.

the cold winter atmosphere on the canal is very interesting, now that we start feeling the heat of the spring end.

Good Morning John,

Canals and rivers take on a mysterious character when they are shrouded with mist. Although the f/g is realively clear, with details that we can recognise, the distance advances to infinity; our imaginations can take over!
Your shot is very well composed, the boat strongly positioned and with converging lines that lead to a strong disappearing point.
The trees, and their reflections, help to produce that sense of perspective and, also, add to the mood of disappearing into infinity.

Hello John,

You're capturing well this this canal and surrounding nature by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see the misty canal of early morning and the row of trees standing on both side of canal. It draws out a mysterious atmosphere. It's arranged for a small ship who is at anchor to the canal. And, the reflection projected to the canal gives special good effect in this image.

I know you don't like B&W images John, but with the mist and the solitary boat on the canal I think this lends itself to a perfect montone shot. Having said that it is a lovely shot as it is, a wonderful moody atmosphere my friend.

Misty pictures always attract my attention. They create an atmosphere of mystery and uncertainty, and set up a philosophical mood. This picture beautifully conveys the atmosphere of the gathering fog, and bright colors of boat highlight misty perspective. An additional charm to the whole picture gives the reflection disappears in the fog.
