‘De Haan - Minimalist view of the Belgian Coast’
By some of you my first picture of the Belgian coast (the one with the two fishermen on the empty beach) was called a minimalist photo.
I actually have one that is a lot more minimalistic.
Of course as minimalist as Gert's photo of Berlin is impossible.
I wanted to show a bit more of the sea, but kept sliding down a dune :)
Hopefully you still think it's worth to show it.
In the WS another picture taken in the dunes and a very strange warning sign. Never seen before in my life.

Hello Paul,
"Quicksand" is most adequate term to describ a dune. Sahara-like dunes in Belgium seems as whole different from what I had in mind when thinking about Benelux countries, and Europe ar all.
Wonderful main photo, neat wind-marks and a glimpse of the sea in deep blue.
Have a nice new day,
Ike

Salut Paul,
superbe cette photo de dunes, bon effet avec cette lumière avec ces ombres et ce graphisme formé par les rides sur le sable, très bien cadré et rendu, tfs.

Hello Paul, Nice pictures of the Belgian dunes. We have also moving dunes on our Baltic coast. The Workshop picture with the road is amusing.

Hi Paul
If it wasn't for the water in the background this could easily been a desert photo. Good minimalist photo and good WS photos. It is interesting and strange that there is no French on the sign.
cheers

Hi Paul,
This looks amazing. A real life desert next to the sea coast. This is not something we would expect from Belgium.
Great illustration of how a skillfully composed photograph can show things in a new perspective.
Great work here, I am also surprised to see that the sands can be quick sands and dangerous as indicated by the workshop photo.
Great scene, very creative. Pleasant light too. The sky on my screen turned slightly too green but I think I have a problem with my eyes so don't worry about it. Ha ha
The pattern of the sand so nice and undisturbed. I wonder whether people are allowed to walk on the dunes without any limitations? Just remembering the situation in Poland...
Maybe instead of saying that it is not allowed for nature protection they wrote it is dangerous...
I hope there will be more :)

Hello Paul,
I always appreciate a good minimalistic photo, so I will send this to my favourites. It's a very attractive composition of few colours and even fewer shapes. Both WS are quite amusing, and the one with the road gives me strong memories of vacations in Greece.
Best regards,
Gert

Bonjour Paul,
J'apprécie les ondes sur le sable. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des dunes. La lumière rehausse les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

HI Paul, three very interesting photos, the first very beautiful, minimalist, which reminds me of the dunes of the Sahara even if the color of the sand is different. The monolingual signal is not very clear and the drawing does not help, it looks like a person who is drowning in water .. ehehe .. congratulations also for the road, maybe it would be enough to clean it or place some windproof wooden barriers. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Paul
Beautifully composed, well selected part of the landscape! I love this minimalism, the patterns of sand ripples, the textures and the colours are amazing.
Must admit - my first thought was you took this image in some far away and exotic location. :-)
The sign in WS is a bit of a worrying warning, fully counterbalanced by your amusing note.
I'll have to add this post to my fav theme!
Best wishes
Kasia

Hello Paul,
Ha!Ha! ... it can't be the 'Saharastof' that came down in the past few days.
I can imagine ... how you kept sliding down the dune, never mind being buried with it :-)
Well, it's very minimalistic and not very 'grey' as Gert's Berlin walls.
This ... feel very 'hot' with the cloudless sky and deep blue sea ( a tiny glance ). The Dunes are amazing ... like you're walking in the desert. I do like the 'shadows' of the sand , there are like 'eels migrating' towards the sea.
As for the whole picture of this dune ... I would prefer the WS1. I could see that the soft sand in the dunes can be 'blown away' with the wind. It should be 'Flyingsand' , not 'Quicksand' :-)
Tfs,
Loong

Hallo Paul,
Een prachtige gezicht op deze hoge zandduinen met een heel mooi en nog onaangeroerd patroon van diagonale streepjes. De diepblauwe zee en de lichtblauwe lucht vormen een mooi achtergrond.

Hi Paul
Missed this one. A nice minimalist shot of the rippled sand dunes & not a single footprint in sight! Good warm cold colour contrasts between the yellow and blue. Tfs!

Very nice composition, with very definied ripple marks. Nice color management and contrasts between the sand and sea.

paul
marvelous the patterns created by the wind in the dunes. I saw lots of them in my last trip, but I will post many weeks ahead. yes, looks curious quicksands in your country. in this last trip I faced something similar, it was a hole in the sand, but you wouldn't never got to be swallowed by the hole, because there was a strong source of water coming up. I faced around seven of them.
take care
