Very thoughtfully composed shot. I've been down this street, but don't remember this distinctive sign. Besides the washed out sky, the one flaw I find in this image is that the sign overlaps the belfry slightly. Each object in the frame takes on an iconic 2-D quality, and as such, each object needs a little space. The overlap could easily have been fixed by stepping out into the street slightly. My favorite thing about this photo is that the gold color of the cat (the only strong color in an otherwise monochromatic image) is mirrored in the gold clock on the tower.

Nice shot, and it works as you wanted it to be.
I also like photographing signages and shop signs. They are quite interesting objects.
