Photographer's Note
This photograph I have taken Saturday in the town hall in Bruges, with much patience to have no people in picture. All the members of TE, who ever in Bruges are these will recognise place.
City Hall, one of the oldest gothic city halls (1376-1420) of the Low Countries. On the first floor is the prestigious Gothic Hall, with an impressive wooden and poly chromed vault ceiling and historic wall-paintings. In the Historic Room a collection of items, documents and paintings relating to Bruges' history are on display.

You must be very very lucky my dear John, to be the first and only person walking on this hall. To enjoy the morning quietness and to savour the painting, without anyone walking, shuffling around. You have also a quiet scene here, very peaceful and composition, to showcase the banners, floor and the painting without being distracted with milling peoples. I honored your patience to get this scene John.

Another one of your interior masterpieces John! Clarity is very good! Lighting is just sufficient, and the angle in which you placed the posts in the middle of the pic is excellent! Thanks for sharing, it's like being inside the museum. rgds.

A wonderful view, John! Its best features are the light and the perspective. The light is a mixture of natural and artifical light sources, creating a large variety of colors. The checkerboard floor, together with that line of columns, creates an ideal perspective. Great work!

Colorful & sharp. I like the repetition of the floor tiles & columns, which are aligned in a nice diagonal axis. Good work!

Bravo, John.

Hi John, an excellent perspective and a superb light to show us this nice place in Brugge, I like here the vivid colors and patters of the hanging flags.

Erg goed werk

The "Maenhout angle" seems to work on this city hall interior just as well as it works in any of your canalside compositions, John. Good framing and colorful detail with the columns, the banners hanging from the ceiling, and the old paintings on the wall. I also like how you captured the shiny and squeaky-clean look of the chequered floor. Well done, exposure well handled.

The colors are strong and the details are very good. I especially like the floor with all the tiles. The only thing which is a little bit disturbing is the pillar covering the view of the door behind it. A POV slightly to the right I would have liked better.
Again a very good indoor shot John. I like it very much.

Square, clear, clean, deep, we have a very good vision of the art works to the wall.
Good choice for the elements inside this composition

Wow, this is a good one, Joh. The b/w floor and the colors of the rags, the low angle and the excellent exposure create a very pleasant result. Very well done.

Nicely done empty of people. The colors in this are really nice. And so is the crisp quality of it. I really like how the floor pattern is captured here. Very interesting. The banners, columns, and paintings add a feel of a civic building. And the image is very inviting to explore those elements and move into the door beyond. Very nice job.

Prachtig binnenzicht (nu nog de buitenkant... ;-)).

Hi John,
The design of the floor covering and the view of two walls are assets to the composition. The point of view is allowing us to see the colors and details of the decoration of the entrance of the town hall. The use of a tripod and of a slow exposure time are bringing out the colors. Have a nice weekend.

Good morning John,
Beautiful entrance to the city-hall, I wish out town's would look a bit alike...
Beautiful taken shot indoors, waiting to have no people stroll by, and the resulyt is overwhelming.
The light, colors depth and clarity - all managed superbly.
