‘Hasselt - The peace bell in the Japanese Garden’
We stay for a while in the Japanese Garden in Hasselt, Belgium.
In my main photo you see the peace bell that was inaugurated in October 2016 in celebration of the 150 years of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Japan.
The bell is also a memorial for the victims that died during the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
It is a symbol of peace and a rejection of war in solving disputes between states.

Hello Paul,
As usual three good photos. I like the main one for the beautiful bell surrounded by cherry blossoms and the human presence adding different colours. There are no people in the second WS but you placed yourself well for a composition with good proportions between pink, white and green.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo Paul,
Een mooi gezicht op het kleine gebouwtje met de vredesbel. De mensen in kleurige kleding zorgen voor een mooie voorgrond en de bloesem is een schitterende omlijsting in het heldere licht.

Hello Paul,
This is another nice view from the gardens. I like the play of light and shadow on the ground, and the bare tree branches that are mixing in with the cherry blossoms. Take care!

Bonsoir Paul,

Hi Paul,
The blooming trees make it feel really like the stereotypical Japan.
The bell is in the shadow and also hidden by the lady in the orange t-shirt.
People add a nice touch here however I would prefer the lady to move further to the right ha ha
Beautiful weather day, very well used. In England the stretch of the good weather ended on Monday already, I am worried this was the all summer we are getting this year...

Hello Paul, three lovely pictures from the Japanese garden.
The dappled light is particularly lovely in this shot, as the sun is filtered through the branches of the trees. I like the presence of the people too.
Interesting note.
Excellent sharpness.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Paul
A beautiful view of this Japanese garden and the bell of peace. I like the conversation of a man and a woman in front of a wooden arch. Good clarity and lighting. Beautiful and lovely shot. Thanks for sharing

Hello Paul, Here magnolia is in full bloom. Mine will be perhaps next week. Interesting peace bell. I saw a similar one somewhere but I do not remember where it was.
Best regards MAlgo
PS, I read it is a cherry tree.

Hi Paul.
Wow....... Wonderful composition with those cherry blossoms, the bell in that rustic pavilion is a magnificent element to take into account in these troubled times, people give a good touch of life to the place.
Magnificent and equally precious the other two photos of the WS.
Sharpness, lighting, color, and magnificent composition; They are managed perfectly, in this beautiful image.
Nice job. I like it a lot.
You have a good day. Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Paul,
Three very attractive photographs.
There is nothing as pretty as seeing the cherry trees, heavy with blossom, in spring. They are true harbingers of spring.
I cannot help but feel that these people are being covered with pink snow! It all looks so peaceful - backed by the Peace Bell!
I love the dappled shadows!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Paul,
Quite the sobering experience to visit the A Bomb museums in Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The Spring flowers form a nice frame. Magnolia or cherry blossom?
