Isla Ometepe - Cascada San Ramón

The 40 m. waterfall San Ramón has already been presented on TE by Ana Dores almost two years ago.
You can reach the fall by a trail of 3,7 km. that starts near the Estación Biológica de Ometepe on the southern part of the island.

The last part of the trail is not so easy, you climb over large boulders in a little stream and at the end it goes a bit steep.
At the time Ana wrote that it was possible to make the walk in about two hours. Don’t ask me how much time I needed :). Again sweating and sighing because it was pretty hot.
During the trip I met several other hikers who were already on their way back. They cheered me up by telling that under the fall there was a natural pool with cool water and you could refresh yourself in it.

Close to the end I walked under the foliage and in the shade and it became less hot.
But to my great surprise the water of the pool wasn’t warm at all and standing under the falling water it was even quite cold. How was that possible in the tropics in the warmest month of the year?
So no long relaxation in the water ... :)
