Back street market
In pretty colonial Granada, there’s a colourful and animated market which tends to overflow in the neighbouring streets. In this "off market", things are … let’s say somewhat less habitual. An interesting place to wander, look at the diverse stalls, try some food, say hello and exchange smiles. A few blocks away is Nicaragua at its most comfortable from a touristic point of view: photogenic colonial buildings, charming hotels and restaurants. And where the wires were buried thanks to a UNESCO subvention (that’s what I was told, seems plausible).
Interestingly, if sometime a lone wire can destroy a photo, bring them by the dozen and suddenly it doesn’t matter, the chaos apparently coming with its own sort of aestheticism. But this photo is not necessarily about pleasing the eye, it’s also about showing the lesser known/shown face B of Granada.
Nicaragua has a Human Development Index (HDI) of 0.565 (considered as a medium development) and is the 115th country on the UN HDI list (estimates for 2010). And, from my own experience, Nicaragua has plenty of warm-hearted people.

A very typical view for many countries, Claude. Great pov that rises above the hustle and bustle of the market and catches those equally typical electrical wires above. Nice shot, thanks for sharing it.

Ce marché n'est peut être pas des plus esthétiques , mais il a le charme de l'authenticité . Derrière ces bâches et tôles ondulées , on devinent les intéressantes maisons à l'architecture coloniale .

Very nice shot to rouse an interesting to Nicaragua. The compression effect by a telephoto enhances a strong visual punch further, and the sharpness is also very refined.

J'aime beaucoup ce genre de photo qu'on voit moins souvent. C'est bien vrai qu'une multitude de fils devient moins laid. C'est une composition intéressante avec beaucoup de détails et de belles couleurs.
