Photographer's Note

The population of Roatan is roughly 30,000. Its residents have ancestral origins from eight separate cultures -- English, Spanish, Payan Indians, Garifuna, Afro-Antillean, Anglo-Antillean, Spanish Honduran, and North American. Its most popular beaches lie on the island's West End. There is much for the tourist to do on Roatan's West End. Island tours, fishing, diving, snorkeling, horsebackriding, jungle canopy tours, and shopping top the list of favorite vacation pastimes.

We had stopped in Roatan on a cruise we took this past November and I had just purchased a new camera and was trying it out. The sun had been playing hide 'n seek with the clouds and produced some interesting lighting. I was just about to take a picture of that boat when the gentleman on the horse came cantering by.
