Photographer's Note
Life is hard for most people in Haiti. Alfonse de Guerre is a 24 year old odd job labourer who survived the 2010 Earthquake now lives in an IDP camp near Delmas sheltered only by some frames and an old tarpaulin supplied by UNHCR. The strain and the stress living in harsh conditions in Haiti remains elongated in Alfonse’s face. Life is uncertain in Haiti but de Guerre lives by working with a NGO that pays him 5 dollars a day. When I saw him, I knew that I had to take his portrait.

Andy
Tes portraits d'Haïtiens sont très beaux et très touchants et nous montrent combien la vie est difficile pour de nombreuses personnes là bas...mais ils gardent quand même le sourire!

hi Andy
you're a humanist photogtrapher, only portraits in your gallery. I like this portrait, attracted by the yes; he seems tired.
Cheers

You made a beautiful portrait of a - I'm sure - wonderful person regardless of his hard, difficult life... I especially like his eyes and mouth - eyes are full of water like he is going to start crying the next moment but mouth, on the other hand, seems like it's going to turn into a light smile... Altogether, very touchy...
