Photographer's Note

Hi my friends,
just returned from a 18 days trip to Cuba. Hard to put it all into words, but I saw a beautiful country with wonderful people in a very difficult situation. We lived with families, so we also learned a lot about cuban society, the economic system, music, culture and the problems of everyday surviving.

The pic shows fishermen at the harbour inlet in La Habana. Like many other things, fishing is an illegal activity for Cubans. Fish, lobster and prawns are owned by the state and reserved for export and the tourist industry.
Do you see the little black point in the sky ? It´s the hook of the fourth fisherman in the row.

In the background you see the skyline of the Malecon, the seaside avenue of La Habana, in the early morning light.
