Photographer's Note
Last month I visited Cuba - what a beautiful country!
My friends and I refused to stay in hotels and instead stayed in casas particulares, people's private houses that were turned into businesses (under governmental control, of course).
Some of the houses we stayed at were pretty basic, while this one was more like a European house...the owners must have had relatives somewhere in the "Western world" who sent them money...because unlike everybody else we met, they were really paying attention to the details and tried to make their house look pretty...like with this iron decoration and little plant hanging on a wall. While most people struggle to get to the end of the month, others make their house look pretty...another contraddiction of this crazy world.
I've adjusted brightness and contrast slightly on Photoshop.
