Photographer's Note
With the exception of a small airfield, boats are the only practical means of transport in the National Park of Tortuguero. From this point you have access to the North all the way to the border of Nicaragua. River towards Southeast leads to La Pavona boat terminal where tourists are transferred from buses to boats. And towards South you reach the village of Tortuguero, Caribbean Sea, and through Canal del Tortuguero even further South.

Hello Kari,
A very nice photo of these traffic signs at the crossing of the rivers. As they are kind of unusual, one almost thinks that the photo was taken while the roads were completely flooded. The dense forest makes a fine backdrop.
