In Accompanyment to the snack of snake (http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Asia/Vietnam/photo99089.htm) comes this celebration of squid.
Dried squid cooked on a small brazier in the street is very popular in Hanoi and it was something we tried, just the once.
Imagine if you will a very thin strip of a car tyre. Now rub that on the pavement and heat it ever so gently over a naked flame. That would have been nice in comparision to the squid.
I guess you could call it an acquired taste.
