Photographer's Note
The merchants of the floating market near Can Tho in the Mekong delta tend to specialise in one item with the three larger boats in this photo selling pumpkins. Their customers are mainly store keepers or restaurant operators who buy in bulk. Small boats travel around selling hawker food to the traders.
Here a woman scoops out stock for a noodle soup. All her condiments and other ingredients are close by for easy access. As with the traders the hawker boats usually sell one item only.

How are things?
You got in nice and close for this one, and/or have cropped it judiciously. We get a great view of the various cooking utensils and condiments she is using, just as if she were a street hawker. Great colours against greys, and superb sharpness. The mans' absorption in watching her is a great feature of this one.

Seems you had a better day for visiting the Mekong Delta than I had. I was there in the pouring rain with limited visibility. Nice to see such a close-up of all the action. I think the composition could be improved if there was more sky area above the man at the tops's head - perhaps a little of the water at the base could have been cropped out! Cheers, Marlene
