Photographer's Note
Difficult to see the Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh and not remember another era. In the late 60s the Rex was the "Hotel Palestine" of Bagdad today where reporters from all over the world were exchanging information.
It is now almost a classical monument where tourists stop before heading for all over Vietnam.

Historical place indeed. I like the colors in your shot: there is a purplish tint in the sky, which goes very well with the color of the hotel walls, and emphasizes the yellow neon light. You might re-think the cropping (bit of light pole on the right, and a tighter crop on the left would work better, I think).

Yes, indeed it's a beautiful hotel with many great memories left by people that had lived thru it, I, was one of those. I had a chance to return in Sai Gon and stayed there at the Rex for a week. The atmostphere could easily takes you back 40 years! For $55 per night (i paid at the time) you can get a suite. The room was beautiful, equiped with a/c, electronic safe, and the rest of modern equipments. The breakfast was free for guests at the rooftop Hoa Mai restaurant, offering from steak-and-eggs to cooked on the spot Pho, all choices of drinks one can imagined. The most memorable moment would be having a cup of coffee with a friend up on the rooftop's moonlight cafe', or the romantic Paradise Coffee Lounge down on the first floor with soft jazz... One thing i did not do was to take a picture of the hotel itself, here I found it and it's just a flash back. Thank you for posting and sharing it. http://www.rexhotelvietnam.com/
Wish to be back there again!
