Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum (Lăng Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh), Ba Đình Square, Hà Nội, Việt Nam.

Two shy girls shelter behind an umbrella, while the brutalist architecture of the Mausoleum looms behind. Ho Chi Minh, a modest man in life, would be turning in his grave at the colossus he's parked in. But he can't turn in his grave: his embalmed body is currently on display in the mausoleum, despite his will stating that he wanted to be cremated. In fact when we were there, the embalmed body was in Moscow for its annual spring-clean. So we were spared the streams of people queuing each day, sometimes for hours, to walk past his body. RIP Uncle Ho, if you can...
