Chor Minor is probably the most photographed structure in Bukhara with its 4 towers (not minarets) with startling blue ceramic domes. It was built as a gate house for a now destroyed madrasa and opened in 1807.
I've selected 2 views that are a little different to the usual photos. I posted one of the standard photos 4 years ago.
The main photo shows the front entrance with the rear towers being only just visible. If you look closely at the right hand tower at the base of the blue it says 1968. I can't find out what that was for and at first I thought that it was when one of the towers collapsed but that wasn't until 1995 (since rebuilt).
The WS photo shows the mosque from a side road and clearly shows all 4 towers.
