‘Welcome to Wat Tham Sua’

Is there someone on this site who likes visiting temples and also likes glitzy colours?
Then Thailand is the place to be.

In the central part of Thailand Wat Tham Sua is one of the famous temples in the province of Kanchanaburi.
It is located about 16 kilometers from the center of Kanchanaburi, a city popular with tourists and best known for the bridge over the river Kwai and the Death Railway.

The complex consists of several temples, all of which lie on an elevated plateau.
From the plateau you have nice views over the gigantic rice fields. See next time.
Since there are several temples you should take a few hours for the visit.
Remarkably, but so close to the touristic Kanchanaburi, Wat Tham Sua is frequented mainly by Thai.

In the WS two photos of the stairs that lead to the raised plateau.

PS: Make no mistake between Wat Tham Sua and Wat Tham Suea. The latter temple is located near Krabi, Southern Thailand (and also built on an elevated plateau).
