Photographer's Note
Taken at the Tiger Sanctuary near Kanchanaburi
I really think the tigers are well-loved, the young ones are as playful as kittens. I doubt that they could maintain so many foreign volunteers if the tigers were mistreated. The tourist visiting is mainly limited to 3 1/2 hours a day, which is way less than any other facility that I know about. This is scheduled at a time when the tigers are sleepy. I also think the tigers close their eyes when confronted by a stranger. I notice that the little ones are wide awake and playful when with their monks but close their eyes when a stranger is near. Karen Earp, who has worked with the RSPCA (Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Britain and volunteered at the Tiger sanctuary, refutes suggestions that the tigers are in anyway drugged or mistreated.

Hi Pat,
Tiger, Tiger, burning bright...
Did the monk just pee his pants he was so scacre. Just kidding. I just happen to notice the wet spot. It's probably from the heat. I don't know if I would dare to sit there with the tiger next to me, I'll just watch from a distance.
Good shot.

Hello Pat,
nice the snapshot with the monk and the visitor in the tiger Sanctuary to looks calm as touch affectionately the little tiger.
I think that the photo has a problem, this is that your lens make the image to have a lot of yellow.
I don't know about the adjustments of your camera during the capture,so i did a WS for you reducing the most of the yellow especially for the visitor.I hope yu like it.
Regards,Danos

namaste Pat,
a nice presentation here. A nice documentery. Like the mood of the tiger and these two men. The light is good and the colour tone is IMHO a bit yellowish. Although I love this composition a lot. Tfs.
Best wishes.

Hello Pat,
Seems like a friendly animal, but then most animals are when they are well fed and not threatened in any way!
This guy seems like well groomed too, with a fine shining fur coat. Seems like the photographer is inside the fence too, be careful because the animal can smell if you're afraid…
Fine details, no handshake!

Hello Pat
By this time you must have been back home! I plan to visit the tiger temple next year more for my daughter...Good framing here with the monk and the tiger seemigly resting so cozily. Recently I read reports of tigers being trafickked from here to the lucrative skin & bone market in China & I was aghast!
Best Regards & Take care

Really an outstanding image both for its beauty and it's content. So amazing to see a tiger so docile, but I think it's possible.
I love the yellow/brownish hue that the whole photo has and it's curious how the monk is looking at the man.
well captured and framed.
ciao,
Donato
