Photographer's Note
65 km north of Nakhon Si Thammarat is the small hamlet of Sichon with its colourful fishing boats and the deep green coconut palm groves. Clearly fish, in particular shrimps, and coconut are the major local product and source of income. The biggest employer must be the dockyard along the river where always a sizeable number of fishing boats are repaired. Further down the river there are large, colourful fishing boats lined up along spindly wooden piers. The hamlet itself consists of one main road and a row of old one-storey weathered shop houses made from the same rough wood the the piers. It is a quiet hamlet with very little action, where you sill feel and experience the Thailand of the 1970s or 1980s.

Hello Urs
An impressive image. There is much to see in the glimpse between the fishing boats. Good colours under the dark sky. Cheers, Marlene

Hello Urs,
A cloudy sky but a very nice light, very well managed which give vived or warm color which arise very well. I like too the framing with the elements of boats on the righjt and on the left of the image which give depht.

Hallo Urs,
Harriet

Dear Urs
Pretty similar to the places we have in India for manufacturing boats. Its interesting to read your note - "experience the Thailand of the 1970s or 1980s" which means prior to the tiurist invasion.
These are big boats as we can see...they obviously are used as ferries. Nice shot of daily life!
Best Regards
Angshu
