Photographer's Note

Almost all the Thais are Buddhists, to be precise Theravada Buddhists. Where ever you go, you will see saffron colour dressed monks, especially right after sunrise, collecting alms. It is a tradition, that every male Thai Buddhist becomes at least once in his life for 3 days or longer a monk. By doing so a Thai man does not only study the reaching of Buddha but also makes merit for somebody in his immediate family, mostly the parents as seen in this ordination of the white dressed will be monk in the Wat Jedyod in Chiang Rai
