Photographer's Note

In Thailand, there are floating markets where vendors row boats up and down narrow canals with food for sale. Unfortunately, it has become a huge tourist attraction, like many things in Thailand, and now the floating markets are filled with boats carrying tourists along the canals as well as boats and stalls selling your everyday tourist junk. Regardless, it's a wonderful sight to see, and you're almost always guaranteed to get stuck in "traffic" of long, narrow longtail boats.

This is dragon fruit, which one of the vendors was trying to sell to my family. She grabbed on to our boat and proceded to float down the river with us while she haggled prices wit hus. Though the fruit is a brilliant reddish pinkish colour on the outside, when cut open, the edible fruit inside is greyish white with lots of tiny little black seeds. It tastes like next to nothing.
