Photographer's Note

This guy has a tiny storefront, probably about 100 meters from my apartment. There are shops like his all over Taipei. I wouldn't really call him a cobbler in the same sense as what the title means in Canada. He doesn't have any super heavy duty sewing machines for going through leather. Mostly what he (and the others) does is to pry off old, worn soles and glue new pieces on, in additaion to a quick polish.

Kind of a funny thing is that I think many people would not enjoy this, but he whistles and hums and seems happy. His cramped quarters have lots of shoes lined up, so I guess he could be doing worse.

ISO 400, 83mm focal length, handheld, uncropped and normal PS touches.
