Photographer's Note
A fresh photo. Its still absolutely pouring rain, but I got lucky to have an hour window of dry weather which I took advantage of and went to the riverside to catch some images. Still shooting with b/w in mind I wanted atleast one color image.

This hot is well succeeded, you show enough to give the impression you intend of jogging, and the yellow line besides adding colour adds a lot more perspective.
The tilted view making the yellow line straight works perfectly, I am just not sure about the colour effect you made...

Hey Rafal!
Interesting shot you got here!
The subject on this picture seems to me something like : This way!
First the yellow line, second the arrow pointing in the same direction and last but not least the bollards giving us the one and only direction.
Nothing else, less or more. This plainness makes the shot!

Hi Rafal, a nice decileful shot. I think here the main point is given by this yellow stripe which gives a lot of depth to the shot with the bonus of the running guy, then we see again a yellow stipre on the other side in order to lean on, the PP makes it also look like an old picture, I like it...

We're neighbors to day and let me tell you, I'm prtoud to be"jogging" next to you brother because this is ONE HELL of a picture. At first I thought "Zepi", who is a very fine photographer too, but no, it's my neighbor Rafal. The color, what I would call "Wim Wenders saturated", the pace, the placement of the jogger's legs, the arrow pointing the way (the JINJU arrow!) all add up to a sweet, experience. A high quality read...

Rafal,
As composition nice shot.
I really like wet touch..
I really would love to go with this B/W.
But also It is true to see at times color On page.
But I looks bit hard PP to get the things tight. Looks bit creepy..:|???
Is it so??
Nice shot..

Salut Rafal !
Ohhhhhhhh, ca déboîte grave ca ! ! !

The low POV is fantastic, the tilt well seen to make the compo more dynamical.
Excellent yellow line...

This is excellent Rafal, one of your better shots I think. I am glad to see this in color, quite honestly I usually prefer your color shots to your b&w, even though I am sure you go the other way. Colors here are great, and a little odd. Actually, the colors remind me of when I used to shoot film and got cheap scans done of Fuji Superia 200. That's a good thing: as long as you don't have to hold a ton of detail, I have always liked the Superia 200. Using the yellow line to parallel the action was great and I think your exposure was top notch. A longer shutter speed wouldn't have hurt for me, but that is pretty minor. Very nice.

Hi Rafal, the tilt is ok, the perspective is ok, the subject is wonderful, the composition perfect, but i think that should be strongest with one of your wonderful b/w.
that saturated colours...i don't know...you are condamned to use your fantastic b/w!
;)
happy vacation!

Hi Rafal,
I can not agree with some critiques about seeing this in b/w. Mainly because of two reasons-firstly due to the fact that your recent few posts are all b/w and one needs variation in life! Secondly and mainly I like it in colours because of the stron yellow line which takes ones eye straight to the end following the jogger! Wonderful POV as always and nice colourtone-may be a bit saturation in pp. I like it a lot. But not sure about the tilt. May be that is good too!

This is very nice, Rafal, this is all one dimension, one way, no choice. I like your high contrasts and saturated colours, especially this rusty yellow. This wet pavement shot from such a close distance reminds me of one of Sasa's pictures...

Hi Rafal
I like the selective focus on the fg, & the tilt, which adds dynamism. The tight cropping has given this superb image an almost abstract quality. Excellent repetition of the barriers at right. Good work & tfs!

Very good Rafal, very good indeed. I love these colors. They remind a lot Zepi’s work and I am starting to be fanatic about this. I have some old photos with this kind of pp, so maybe I’ll post them using this as an excuse. The strange fact is that mines are also on a rainy day so I guess this work wonders with water reflections. You composition is awesome. That yellow stripe flying along the entire picture gives an incredible sense of depth. The texture of the road is also amazing. I like your point of focus. At f/9 one might think that everything would be sharp but I guess that 50mm doesn’t work that way. The tilt is crucial here. A great photo my friend.

Hello Rafal
Still shooting with b/w in mind I wanted atleast one color image.
You're right, but this one had to be colored, i don't think it would work as well in b&w ... nice tilt, and nice work on perspective .... were you on the floor waiting for a runner ? (;)), your POV looks so low ...
Well seen and done

Rafal,
I LOVE this one...a rare colour shot from you but when you go colour you certainly dont' waste it. This looks like it could be a print ad but with more soul than that. Love the 'after the rain' feel to it and the deep saturation of the colours. Great work

Hi Rafal. Well, playing all the jinju-esque tricks again in this one with the blend of everyday graphisms and people's limbs, LOL. The result is a striking piece that absolutely has to be in color. I like the effect added by the sunlight hitting the wet asphalt. I also welcome that you used f/9 (could even imagine a smaller aperture), I think a pronounced bokeh would make this much less effective.

Nice one Raf. Theres something that I like just a bit more with your colour shots, I think they seem to have a bit more life than your black and white work. They just seem to have a bit more energy and vibrance about them.
You portray the rain soaked colours well in this shot and as like all your shots love the graphical element which you bring to it. Two months into winter and we've finally had our first major hit of rain, so I can relate well to this scene.

how do you manage such a photo from below? sitting down on the floor? or what? i really like the way you have to somewhat deshumanize your subjects to leave only the graphics and the overall sense.. This one is brilliant once again;-) nice colors and contrasts... the eye is definitely drawn to the end of the line...

I like very much your photo. For the graphics, the pov and the colours which you found. Feet are ideally placed. We have the impression that you photograph the ground and then there is all the landscape which arrives on the screen.
An excellent work.

Interesting viewpoint Rafal - the yellow line & forward arrow work with the small amount of motion blur to convey speed & direction, and also distance (i.e. he has this long distance to travel). Great concept. I think this one works well in colour, I'm not so sure if it would be so good in B&W (I'm too lazy to try a conversion & see for myself!).

Very nice dynamics, I especially praise the colors which remind me some Kodak film with powerful yellows and the typical blue shift for the greyish or shadowy areas.
I thought at the time that Kodak print film was a gift to photograph monks, because of the saturation of the yellow in their orangy robe and the contrast it made with the bluish cast on shadows.
That YELLOW line is growing on my view. Can't take my eyes off it.

Hi Rafal,
Aaaahhhhhhhh, colors :-)
Following the lines the perspective gets very deep, I like as well the timing to have the guy just running on the arrow, do you actually pay these guys or do you wait for ages until one comes ;-)

You just couldn't even dream about this being in black and white- and thats coming from a person who thinks everything looks better in b&w. The colors are beautiful for rainy day photography. Action, motion, minimalism, symbolism- you've caught it all. Great job.

Hi Rafal, my favorite of your rafal of 3 pictures from same spot, there is an obvious thing of course that makes it different from the 2 others, colors.
But what makes this picture say myself TREMENDOUS instead of GREAT for the 2 others is the excellent perspective you got here really more powerfull, your compo is vertical and the perspective here in that direction, followed by this runner, really brilliant, i jut love this shot and i permit to add it in a theme i just started
Excellent Rafal

Really nice one Rafel, with great colour and the texture of the tarmac enhanced by the rain water. All lines lead to the same place and the runner is pulling us along... The tight crop and decision to focus on the foreground work really well, which is quite interesting to me. The shutter speed is just perfect to give that hint of motion blur on the runner's heel.

Hi Rafal,
This photo spells the concept "wet" even though it doesn't show the rain (which just passed). It's the way it gets the viewer so close to the ground, sweeping the asphalt with his/her eyes up to where very thin sheets of mirror-like water have formed. The jogger adds punch and spells "grit" in addition to "wet." Seen from this perspective, the asphalt is also gritty. So I guess I would title this Wet and Gritty.
Also like that saturated yellow, showing the way -- adds a parallel direction of reading the photo than by following the guy's legs.
Raluca
