Mita-won (Amitabha temple) is a Buddhist temple and charnel house. Founded in 2002, it stands on the slopes of Daeja (great mercy) mountain in Daeja-dong, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
I took this photo at the temple, was too crowded with visitors on Buddha’s birthday. On this day, a memorial service for the dead was observed on the front yard of a building that contains a statue of Buddha early in the morning. After a memorial service, all the visitors took free meals and tea provided by the temple.
The paper lanterns cover the entire temple throughout the month, the colored paper lanterns are to pray for the wealth and honor of the living, and the white paper lanterns are to pray for the Gukrakwangsaeng (easy passage into eternity) of the deceased.
This picture is a negative film scan (Fujifilm X-TRA 400) using an Epson 4990 scanner.

Hi Eungbong
Wonderful repetition of the dual layers of white & colored lanterns. Good sharpness & wide angled curving. Tfs!
