Photographer's Note
I phoned back to Canada on my way home tonight to catch up with my family, and was informed that a friend from school had passed away as a result of a freak accident at the age of 29. Times like this, You really do have to appreciate how precious life is, and that at any time, at any age it- it can all be taken away.
I dedicate this photo to Evan...
A great guy, who was taken well before his time.

Hi Dan
A fine way to remember your old friend - I like the soft light and the silhouette bench.
A young man was hit by a car some days ago and was buried today - I saw the flowers at the road side today and my thoughts goes to his family - his mother was an old schoolmate of mine.

Great photo. Nice and soft.
Sorry about your friend.
It's so odd, but I was just discussing the fragility of life before I saw your note. We live in an odd society at best.

Hi Dan,
This is a very striking image you have posted in memory of your friend. The picture is a scene of quiet contemplation which many people need at a time like this. In England people often place benches in parks and viewing areas with a plaque dedicating it to the memory of a lost one. You have done the same for your friend here.

Daniel sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. Its terrible how many accidents happen in Vancouver and on the Island. They make front page headlines all the time in the Province newspaper. This photo is very fitting for this theme. The bench represents a nice conversation with a friend while the sky represents the joy and wonder one can enjoy as a gift that each day brings. All we have to do is take the time to enjoy it and make sure we take good care of ourselves. A very touching scene Dan..thanks for sharing!

Désolé pour la perte d'un ami cher dans ces conditions tragiques.
L'avant-plan photographié à basse hauteur donne une bonne profondeur qui guide le regard vers l'infini.
Afflicted for the loss of your dear friend under these tragic conditions.
The foreground as photographed with low height gives a good depth which guides the glance far away in the red sky.

Dan, you have a really wonderful gallery. All are taken with photographic purposes. All were very professional, composing with great photographic techniques. Here is an example of all you have. You did well in making it to be dramatic. You know where the great angle should be. You realize the colors and light. You know how to make it sharp. Very well done. However, I have a little point to share with you here. I think the edges were strongly vignetted. Overall, it is a really good one.
