Photographer's Note

Taken during a trip to Singapores Zoological Gardens.

The White Tiger (also known as the Bengal Tiger) is very recognizable from it's blue eyes, pink nose, creamy white fur and chocolate colored strips.

Males range in length between 8.8 and 10.2 feet. They average in weight between 419 and 569 pounds. Females are smaller, and range in length from 7.11 to 8.7 feet, weighing around 350 pounds. Both males and females have a tail rangin in length from 3 to 4 feet.

The White Tigers range was South East Asia, and central and southern India. Unfortunately the White Tiger is on the verge of extinction and very hard to find outside of a zoo.

A common misbelief is that White Tigers are an Albino species. In fact White tigers occur when both tigers that mate carry the gene for white coloring.
