Photographer's Note

To continue a Singapore series, here is a morning sun over the Singapore Strait.
It was taken from the extreme east point of Santosa Island.
I was using a tripod and shutter cable, waiting for the little fishing boat to cross the sun reflection on the water.

I exposed for the sky and new the foreground was going to be dark.

In 2007, while in Penang, my wife Vicki, was diagnosed with lymphoma and we had to sail back to Singapore, where she would receive the best cancer treatment of South East Asia.

During her 4 month treatment, we took long morning walks and it was a good occasion for me to practice photography.

Thanks to the superb medical treatment in Singapore, she is now in complete remission and our sailing has resumed as if nothing happened.

I have an A3 print (13x19 inch), at home and it represents a new beginning for us...
