RE-POST NOTE - the correct version with better clarity that was supposed to be ULed, my apologies
I have also uploaded 2 additional pics of this mosque as WS.

The Story -
I was walking along Dunlop Road when I came across the Abdul Gaffoor Mosque. Although I know of it, I have never seen the place myself.

I was fiddling with my camera outside the gates when a nice elderly Indian gentleman invited me into the compound and showed me around. He told me about the mosque and its history and brought me into the prayer hall. I have been into many places of worship of different religons but never a mosque.

As I was walking and chatting with the elderly gentleman I passed this man sitting very serenely near the entrance. He looked up and smiled at me and he had the most serene look on his face.

I saw periodically, he would pray and then stop to meditate quietly. I realised I was looking at a man who has found Peace within himself, via his Faith.

As the elderly Indian gentleman told me, if you have the ability to believe - be it religon or philosophy or principles, you can find peace. Even Atheists and Agnostics believes in something right?

I think he's right.

The History -
The Abdul Gaffoor Mosque is along Dunlop Street between Little India and Jalan Besar. It was build in 1910 and is an exquisite small Mosque serving the Indian Muslim community within this area. Since 1979, it has been gazetted as one of Singapore's 32 National Monuments.

The architecture is a mix of Arabic and Victorian influences. There are arabic arches and minarets, typical Indian spiral columns and a Victorian styled dome in the middle with a beautiful chandelier.

The Tech -
Cropping, colour/constrast balancing and some sharpening
