Photographer's Note
Sergiev Posad is located few kilometres far from Moscow. I went to the railway station, bought the ticket in a machine and had to ask for help for some people where the train would be, a workmen of the station took me to the electronic board to check the information and when the train arrived I asked for a blond girl "if that train was the one that would go to Sergiev Posad" and she became furious and said "NO!", then I entered in that wagon and did the same question to another girl, a brunet, and she said "Yes" and when the train arrived in the destiny she advised me we had arrived. As you can see, there are good and bad people in any place of this world.
Monastery of Trinity-Saint Serge, in Sergiev Posad, has a similar role as the Vatican inside Orthodox Church of Russia. It is a big monastery surrounded by huge towers and ramparts and filled with cathedrals.
At left you can see Assumption Cathedral, at right you can see Holy Spirit Church.
There is a red chapel at side of the cathedral, it was protecting a fountain. It is told when Polish army besieged the monastery for many months this fountain appeared and it is sacred, in front of the chapel there is a kiosk with a fountain with these same waters.
................

Hello Jorge,
It would have helped you to learn the Cyrillic alphabet so you could read the signs by yourself. ;-)
But you found the right destination anyway, and this was clearly worth the excursion. It's an amazing conglomeration of fine buildings looking fantastic even on a cloudy day.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Jorge,
Funny story about Russian blondes :)
Often when travelling, I also ask if it's the right train or bus before boarding, often a matter of confirming what I had found myself. In my experience, few people in the world are offended by that. Sometimes it's also the start of a pleasant conversation with a fellow traveller.
Here you managed to line up quite a few domes. Some of them in gold, others with golden stars on a blue dome.
Sergiev Posad seems to be a very popular place for tourists and perhaps pilgrims too.
Best regards, Paul

Jorge, that site comprises a cathedral, a church, a memorial, some sanctuaries and a plazza. Its visit must be rewarding to learn a passage of Russian history. The tourists enliven the scene. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Jorge,
I have often wondered about the difficulty of travelling in countries where the language is very different and possibly very difficult; obviously there are situations where it would be impossible, without the help of a kind person. Maybe lots of forward planning is necessary but ... you still need help at stations!
Fortunately, everything turned out right in the end, and you were able to see and record these quite beautiful buildings. The domes, supporting crosses are very reminiscent of those on buildings in Moscow.
Religious buildings are in abundance, considering how such buildings were actively suppressed.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Jorge,
A really nice mix of towers and domes here and also the monument in the right hand side foreground. There are many different details to be discovered everywhere, especially on the two buildings in the middle.

Oi Jorge,
Bela foto!
Parabéns e bom domingo
Ricardo

Hello Jorge, I was curious if you went to Sergiyev Posad. I liked it very much. This complex of cloisters is the best in Russia (for me). Nice view of the Lawra, but you had bad luck with the weather. With the cloudy sky, it looks less attractive than I remember it. The well is too dark. Besides, the Trinity Church is leaning heavily to the right.
You have always funny adventures with people. You remember such a long time when you think someone is rude to you.
I had some problems with finding the train to Vladimir. I ran about like crazy trying to find the platform 5. It happened, that there were two platforms 5 (one was 5d) in quite a different place. Fortunately, I cam to Kurskaya station well in advance and I found the train just in the last moment, quite without breath.
Best regards MAlgo

Hola Jorge.
Me gusta
Que disfrutes de un buen dia.
Saludos muy cordiales.
Luis.
