Photographer's Note

My hotel was few meters far from this street and the restaurant I posted images was here too.
Nikolskaya Street receives its name because the Nicholas Tower, you can see in the BG, as part of Kremlin ramparts. This street was the place of merchants and shops from 12th century ahead, mixed with monasteries. In one of its buildings it was printed the first Russian book in the times of Ivan, the Terrible, who was obligated to move from the town because the people of Moscow believed that was a diabolic thing. In this street was a monastery where worked the first educational institute of high level in Russia.
I took this image in a night with some fast light cold rain, these adornments are covering the whole street.

Meu hotel estava a poucos metros dessa rua e o restaurante cujas fotos mostrei antes ficava nessa rua também.
A Rua Nikolskaya recebeu esse nome devido a torre de Nicolau que aparece no fundo da foto e que faz parte das muralhas do Kremlin. Essa rua era o lugar de mercadores e lojas a partir do século 12 e tinha também vários mosteiros. Num dos prédios foi impresso o primeiro livro russo, isso nos tempos de Ivan, o Terrível, que teve que fugir da cidade pois os moscovitas achavam que um livro impresso era coisa do demônio. Num mosteiro dessa rua funcionou o primeiro instituto educacional de alto nível da Rússia.
Tirei essa foto numa noite fria, com chuvinha rápida e leve, os adornos ocupavam toda a extensão da rua.
