Photographer's Note
Inside the castle there is a big museum with marvelous samples of Russian art, including religious icons, Russian paintings and some samples of popular art.
This region is known by the "Gorodets" a kind of painting in timber with naif style. I saw many pieces, each one more special than the other, many of them are abstract. Here we can see a dinner of a rich family during 19th century, pay attention in the traditional Russian shirts used by the musicians.
When I saw this painting it was like I was transported to that age.

Dentro do castelo há um grande museu com peças magníficas, um acervo composto por ícones religiosos, pinturas russas e muitas peças de arte popular.
Essa região é conhecida pelos "Gorodets" que é um tipo de artesanato, uma pintura colorida sobre madeira. Boa parte das peças são quase abstratas, essa aqui mostrava um banquete numa casa rica do século 19. Reparem nas camisas tipicamente russas usadas naquela época, usadas pelos músicos.
Quando vi essa pintura foi como se tivesse sido transportado para aquele tempo.

Jorge, this museum exhibits remarkable artworks. That painting immerses the visitors some centuries back. It depicts a dinner organized in the past by a wealthy family. Their interior is luxurious, i can see waiters, musicians and guests. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Jorge,
It's a wonderful painting offering so many details to watch. It draws a big smile to my face. The painter made the persons on this side of the table so small that they shouldn't disturb the composition of those on the other side. In the portrait at the top left the man's hair is growing out of the canvas.

This is a very interesting painting, painted in the style of Naive Art, you are right, these costumes are typically Old Russian and only the nobility had such rich clothing, well presented

This is delightful!
It could be a scene from an aristocratic dining room anywhere, until you notice those shirts and their long Russian boots!
I would imagine, if this was in the UK, the musical instruments would more likely have been a piano or violins.
I have really enjoyed perusing this and soaking in all the details.

hello Jorge, Delightful naive picture. Nice scne from the dinner in the wealthy Russian family. I saw similar interiors in Irkutsk. The musicians wear traditional long boots and shirts. The guy on the left is playing garmon, the guy on the right - balalaika, typical Russian instruments.
