Photographer's Note
Once upon a time a local bar invited me to take photos on a party. This is one of my working images of a fire coctail with whisky.

Hello Serghei,
I'm not sure what happens when you do this, but somehow it seems like a waste of good whisky. Are you supposed to inhale the vapor? I would rather drink it the usual way, but this certainly makes for very eye-catching photos. Not so easy to expose correctly, but you did very well.
Best regards,
Gert

Priviet Serghei,
When you invited to take photos, do you have also free drinks? Interesting picture of the fire in the cognac glass. Well done.
I am enjoying my trip to Uzbekistan very much. So many wonderful places. Today I go to Tashkent by plane. I have still three days, maybe I will go to Fergana Valley.
Hugs for you both

Hi Serghei,
Wonderful shot of this decisive moment. Good framing and nice warm light tones. Also the blue flame of burning alcohol is well visible.

Hello Serghei,
Whisky is already fiery, does it need to be lit?
Does lighting it remove the alcohol or just affect the flavour of the drink?
It does make a very original, intriguing photograph, nicely detailed and with a fine angled composition.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Serghei,
Although I live in Scotland, I've never seen whisky lit like this and it seems a bit strange to me too - why waste all that lovely warming alcoholic drink by setting fire to it?
What I have seen is people setting fire to the Italian liqueur called Sambuca - they put some coffee beans in the drink and then light it. You're supposed to put out the fire before you drink it but once I was at a mini TE meeting in England with friends and a drunk fellow came into the restaurant we were at, ordered a Sambuca, lit it and promptly drank it, setting his beard on fire. What fun that was! :)
Yes, this is curious lighting whisky and even more curious that the glass on top appears to be a brandy glass. However, this is a magical photograph with beautifully warm light and colours, perfectly taken in difficult conditions too.
Bravo!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hi Serghei,
Good sharpness and warm colours of yellow orange and red. You can do the same trick with vodka or any spirit over 30-40% alcohol but the price of spirits is getting so high here that it seems a pity to burn it, when it can be drunk instead. Tfs!
