Photographer's Note

The Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land in my home city of Ekaterinburg, Russian Federation.
The Church (Russian: Храм-на-Крови́ во и́мя Всех святы́х, в земле́ Росси́йской просия́вших) is a Russian Orthodox church built on the site of the merchant Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg, where Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia, and several members of his family and household were shot by the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War. The church commemorates the Romanov sainthood.
As a kid I remember this merchant Ipatiev house, we played a lot inside and outside of this area, trying to find something interesting ex. rifles or bullets or coins or helmets...When I grew up this house and some others were demolished due to city development and construction, but this place was preserved for the Church to built. And it happened soon after the Nikolai II Romanov's family was identified and canonized by Orthodox church and royal family. Now this Church is a historical and legacy building, protected by State and has Romanov's royal family museum inside with lots of documents, photographs, memorabilia.
