Smolnyj monastery was built between 1748 - 1764 click Empress Elizabeth I, daughter of Peter the Great. The monastery is considered one of the most important works of the Italian architect Rastrelli.

Hi Tomas, this photo of the monastery is beautiful but it is also original. I like the low POV and how you have captured those amazing blue colours and intricate detail in the architecture. You light management is wonderful here. I've always dreamt of going to Russia, it seems so far away for me, so thankfully I can see your photos instead.
