Photographer's Note
There is no better way to cool yourself from the heat than what this girl is doing behind the grille. Before I took her picture she just finished eating an ice cream cone. She is sitting on two pillows to pad her bottom from the hard security grille of the window that projects about 18" from the wall and window. Anywhere the breeze blows she will catch it as she is sitting on the exterior of the house. She is sitting outside the wall and not inside the wall. The house she ives in is one of those houses built in early 1800.
PP Work: Adjust levels control; Increase saturation; Sharpen; Remove noise; Convert to black and white; crop; Reduce size for posting.

This is a very good capture. And I'm glad for the note - i might have worried she was imprisoned without it. It's really well balanced and composed and you caught a lovely expression on her face.

Beautiful photo, Andre, of the girl smartly escaping the heat as you so well described in your note. The b&w was a good choice here as it seems to make your subject stand out even more, and the wrought-iron grille was well utilized to establish a rhythm for the composition of this one.

Excellent shot, Andre! I have been playing around with other people's pictures (only on my own PC, not on TE) to obtain square framings with the people on the picture "leaning" in a corner against the edges like this girl, so I was pleasantly surprised to see your picture. The square framing works extremely well here. The deep black background is great and is in very good contrast with the girl. Regards, Michael.

It is good to see from you once in a while like this closeup and personal shot. Perfect composition and very smooth skin tone. Because of the B&W version, her hair is lost in the background. Color may be better?

Hi Andre - it's a very good B&W/street image, the note is really important here as from the thumbnail I initially thought she was going to be more unhappy sitting in behind those bars. As I can now see, she's simply keeping cool!
The contrast is excellent in this one, the composition equally so with the girl placed in one corner.
