Photographer's Note
This is a picture of boat moored beside a bamboo platform in a fish pond in Malabon, Rizal, Philippines. The boat is made from one whole piece of timber, a type that is now vanishing in the Philippines. The platform is made of bamboo tied together and also tied to the wood support. Bamboos last a long time exposed to water and the elements as long as you do not bore a hole in it. I decided to do these in black and white because of the nice contrast of the boat and platform against the dark water background

beautiful photo. Both the subject and the techniques used.
the white on the bamboo seems a little oversaturated, did you enhance this or is it because it was a colour before?

I like such photos very much. It's simple common subject, but very well composed - it makes this photo interesting.
