Photographer's Note
She was planting alone when I spotted her at the Banaue Rice Terraces. Her ricefield is located at the middle of the rice terraces, and it was difficult to reach the place. The road is steep, slippery and narrow. It took me around 20 minutes to go near her ricefield from the main road (took longer to go back up).
People in Banaue, in Ifugao province, are known to make their living from farming in the rice terraces, selling colorful weaved native clothes and wood curvings/sculptures.
This is my 2nd post about Banaue, its people and the rice terraces.

Very nice view of these terraces. The green and all the different layers are always very beautiful to see, and your view from above, makes it a nice composition.
Excluding the sky was a good idea!

nice one but it can be better if that women will be bigger. Take shot from that distance makes her so small.
If you could go down to make her bigger you could compose some sky to this photo too.

The woman gives the idea of proportion of rices terraces. What mainly makes an impression on me is the hard work of man to build these terraces on ribs of mountain. Good colors.

A fine POV giving shape to the terraces. The woman is a fine human addition and makes a lot for scaling the landscape. I would like to have here in a corner position by cropping on the left though. That would also get rid of the heap of things beside her.

Hi Alford, I like this great view, the shapes of these terrraces bring a lot of graphism in the photo and the excellent depth makes it very enjoyable.

Excellent shot Alford! It's incredible how much hard work is necessary for to cultivate the rice! The colors are a symphony of green and the pattern of the repeated terraces is very effective. The presence of the human figure give us the right proportion of the scene.
Very well done!

Nice shot of the field and the crops, it is a little pixelly, but I can see the details, really well done

so many of these terrace landscapes are fuzzy, but this is spot sharp, not always easy in SE Asia. nicely done.

Very beautiful catch of sight Alford!
The selected angle is excellent as well as the prospect. The luminosity is mastered.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Alford
I like the top right corner especially. The man planting rice in the other corner adds scale & context. Well done!

Surely amough the wonders of the world - those rice terraces - I like the perspective you got in this image with an plato in front and the hill as background - the woman makes the shot perfect and give us the sizes of this place - thanks Alford - a Favorite.

an excellent (and different) pov indeed. great, how you captured her (and in a typical rice planting postition) to give sense of scale. good details too, tfs!

Precarious view of a hillside, adorned with terraces of padi field. Wish I was here to take this sight in Alford. But sometime being my own personal image editor, I would probably removed that material, lying on the edge. It kind of marred this scenic composition.

Nice terraces. I have also seen it in South Europe, but of course without rice.
The working man or women shows how big and wide this view is. Nice green colours as well. Well done!

This is a very impressive landscape. The capture is perfect with the near terrace, the terraces across in the middle ground and then the mountainside on the right in the far distance. It makes for great depth through the image. The person not only serves as a point from which to move out but also as a way to scale the scene and think of how vast it all is. the rich foliage is excellent, too. But the scale is the thing I really like giving an almost unreal feel with all the terraces. It looks like an amazing place. Nicely done.
