Photographer's Note
The lady in the middle shouted to his fellow farmers "Hey look! We're being photographed by that guy!" But her companions, mindful of the hard work still to be done ahead, kept on working.
When shooting daily life activities, there are cases when people would stop what they're doing, pose at the photographer, wave and smile their sweetest smiles, thus spoiling the photographer's excitement. But then there are also some who don't mind at all and would just go on with their activities. I think I've
captured those 2 types in this photo.
These are farmers in Nueva Vizcaya bundling rice to be re-planted in the fields, a very typical sighting during the planting seasons (April/May and October/November).

Nice compo Alford. I love thos big hats, a bit better than those baseball caps,

Alfor, this picture works very well, even though it appears to be taken around midday. And I share your frustration when people stop to pose for you, and thus "ruin" a good natural shot. But that is life in Asia.
Photographically, the only comment I have is what would this photo have looked like if you had closed down the aperture for greater deapth of field. I like the background (particularly since it is 100% rice field) and wonder if it would be stronger if it was in sharp focus. I am not sure it would be better, but just something to consider.

I like your composition very much. A green background, made with lines, on which some human being in blue, pink or violet are lying down.
In addition the main subject, in fact the lady in the middle, is well centered. Very good shot !

A excellent daily life picture from Philippines Alford, indeed three people look or the camera, beautiful one of the rice field with the vertical lines, it hand work in this water is wonderful image.

Very nice image. Good compositon with the straight lines in the background and the people working in the foregrounde. Rich colors from the cloth contrasting well aginst the green. Well captured.

Alford, you have a fine shot here. A very good picture to showcase villagers minding their works in a padi fields. A good example of good exposure and composition, making this photo, instructive and narrative too. And peeking is not needed here to see what's going on :)

Very beautiful colors! Makes me want to try my hand in rice farming! The lines at the back could have been sharper though to give it a crisper look. But its still a great farm shot!

I prefer to see the people when they don't take attention to the camera but here the sign of this women is funny. I like also the perspective in the rice field in the background. Very good light too. Bravo!

Hi Alford. A beautiful photo of the rice farmers working in the field. Stunning to look at this vast expanse of green, and to see the workers dressed in their colorful clothing and wearing the hats. Fun indeed to see the two types of responses to being photographed :-) Very nice one.
