Photographer's Note
I took this photo around 1pm local time. At that time it was too hot under the sun to go out fishing, even for Filipinos. There was so much to see on that beach as you can see (more to come) in my travelogue Philippines 2009.
We were walking on the beach at Bantayan Island on a day out with friends and family when I saw this scene. Not too much later enjoying cold green mango shakes and a delicious lunch.

Hoi Harko,
Inderdaa geen vissers maar darentegen een zeer zacht beeld met de groene en blauwe kleure op zee en aan de hemel.
Toch een mooie smanestelling, en prettig om naar te kijken, bedankt.

This type of boat is very similar to that used in Polynesia. The composition is very beautiful. I like the different shades of the sea. Excellent sharpness.

Beautiful shades of blue! You did well under such a harsh sunlight. The composition is clever with the boat on the left being closer and defining an imaginary oblic line with the other one on the right hand side. It gives the whole scenery a good dynamic. The clouds also add some interesting details into the composition.

Bantayan has gained fame in the later years, and not without reason!
Wonderful beaches and water, the colours seem to be characteristic for this place...
All together I must have spent nearly a year in Cebu but never visited Bantayan, I blame myself..!

the light was harsh I guess but you did a great job on managing that. There is a nice play between the sky and the water in their color tones and the elements are well placed. Once more the crop was well chosen. Well done!
