Photographer's Note
An outrigger canoe (Tagalog: bangka) is a type of canoe featuring one or more lateral support floats known as outriggers, which are fastened to one or both sides of the main hull. Smaller canoes often employ a single outrigger on the port side, while larger canoes may employ a single outrigger, double outrigger, or double hull configuration.
The larger versions like in this photo are usually called pump boat.
Using an outrigger or double hull configuration greatly increases the stability of the canoe, but introduces much less hydrodynamic inefficiency than making a single hull canoe wider. Compared to other types of canoes, outrigger canoes can be quite fast, yet are also capable of being paddled and sailed in rougher water.
This Bantayan pump boat is most likely used for fishing in the coastal waters. When I took this photo the tide was falling rapidly, 30 mins after this photo the pump boat was laying on high grounds.
Bantayan Island is one of the more well known tourist attractions in the province of Cebu. Next to the white beaches, the island is known for its seafood and a 400 year old church.
The easiest way to the island is by bus or van to Hagnaya Wharf in San Remigio, Cebu, and from there the ferry to Santa Fé.

Hi Harko
Good wide angle view showing of the expanse of the sea and sky. The boat is well place with the bow heading toward the right corner. Lovely light too.

Each winter I spend a couple of months in the Philippines and always a couple of weeks of that is spent on Bantayan Island. Nice to see this! You've captured some really great colors here. Nice composition and detail. TFS

Dag Harko,
I like this, the stranded boat is well placed towards the corner in the composition, and the sky and water gives a real summery feeling to the shot, I can almost feel the sea breeze and the warm water on my feet.

Bonjour Harko;
pausage de rêve bien entendu avec un ciel magique, tropical, des ciles si vite changeants. Une photo bien cadrée aux lumières douces et aux couleurs à la fois fortes et naturelles.
My best regards.
Daniel.

Hi Harko
Très bien composer et réaliser, j'aime les couleurs de la mer, la lumière qui filtre les nuages blancs sous un bleu des plus beau qui rend cette image plaisante a souhait

Hi Harko,
thanks a lot for your comment.
I picked this photo because of the natural serene stream which emerges from it. The contradiction between the cloudy sky (which brings somekind of motion) and the quiet sea tide is really enjoyable. The cold tones are nice too, bringing some freshness to the spirit.
Well done.
Have a nice day ahead.
Best regards.
Clemence
