Photographer's Note
This is the first of 9 series of pictures taken during my visit to historic Taal City. Taal City lies on the west side of Taal Lake. Taal Lake is a lake that formed on the crater of a volcano. Just like the City of Vigan, in Ilocos Sur Province, Taal City has plenty of of old homes done during the Spanish times which is more than 100 years ago. The homes are built of wood and stones. Some are still preserved today but many are deteriorating as the owners have no money to maintain and restore the structures. Most are domestic structures and two churches. One church is the Church of Our Lady of Casasay and the other one is the Basilica of St. Martin of Tours. The photo shown is the bell tower of the Basilica of St. Martin of Tours.
