Photographer's Note
Bouddhanath Stupa, the biggest stupa in Nepal, lies about 7 km east of the capital, it is also called by many as Khasti Chitya. It is one of the oldest stupas in the country. After 1959, many Tibetans arrived and settled in Bouddhanath area. The stupa, a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site, is included in World Heritage Cultural site list by UNESCO. With diameter of about 100m and 40m height, Buddhanath holds its place among the largest stupas in the world. It is one of the largest in the world. It looms 36 meters high and presents one of the most fascinating specimens of stupa design with hundreds of prayer wheels and 108 small images of Buddha all around.
It is religious center for the Buddhist people. Surrounding the stupa there are many different monasteries belonging to different Buddhist sects. Most of the visitors use go to The Stupa for sightseeing and shopping and Tibetans handicrafts. During the full moon day many Buddhist people come to celebrate and take part in various religious activities. Many have schools that teach young monks.

Hello Lucie,
Point de vue parfait pour nous présenter ce monument. Les couleurs sont étonnantes et très harmonieuses. J'aime beaucoup l'effet de vignettage qui apparaît sur les bords de l'image.
Excellent.

Hi Lucie,
Impressive picture, very dramatic with the distorted perspective created by the super-wide lens and diagonals leading your eye from the Stupa to the sunset. I'm not entirely sure about the magenta cast to the lighting, it's certainly dramatic but to me at least doesn't feel entirely natural (not that that matters necessarily).
The people in the foreground work well, not just for scale but also as a way of taking us into the picture - it feels as though we could just step down and join them.
Regards
John

Hi Lucie,
I have to say, you have a great gallery, very inspiring for me as a young photographer, who studies these kind of shots. This one`s no exception, the colors in the sky look amazing and your composition is great! Wonderful shot, many thanks for sharing!

A wonderful shot, Lucie!
I am impressed by your POV, with its wide angle, giving the feeling that the stupa is stretched. The long lines of flags all around the stupa in every direction increase this feeling. I love the colors, with the glowing clouds and the texture of the soil.
Best regards

Wow, Lucie!
I'm usually not fond of heavy processing, but what you
did here with colour tones and contrast looks amazing.
Looks like the sun has already set and you were shooting
in low light with slow shutter speed, but visitors are
perfectly 'frozen' and I can't see any motion blur.
Love it!
Cheers,
Robi

Hi Lucie,
It's the colouring and your wide view from above that I really love in this shot. It's really spectacular with the lines of prayer flags coming down from every side and the people down below show us the huge size of this impressive stupa...beautiful. I would like to visit this place some day. Great Work!

Very good picture of this stupa. I've actually been to this place myself, so I realize how difficult it is to get a clean shot of the place as it is surrounded by buildings on all sides - you must have taken this from one of those buildings. Great colour in this, very warm and pleasing to the eye. Well done!

It may be a little over post-processed, but I must admit there are style, impact and atmosphere. The pink tones (quite unusual) are irresistible. Great pov and framing too. Simplt great.
